They just released a new BIOS for the M6600. I have not yet installed it but will be doing so in a few hours.

    Says the fixes enhancements are:

    1. Fixed issue where TDM PBA SSO doesn't work when both FP and TDM PBA SSO are set for single user. 2. Addressed some keyboard with USB Hub not accessible during POST. 3. Updated to the MOB_P_13 version of the Intel microcode patch. 4. Intel Trusted Execution Technology updates 5. Updated to the 1.05 version of Dell GPE. 6. Added new key for Signed Firmware Updates.

    I just updated mine....

So far, what I notice is that I CAN use all the available brightness without backlight flicker (Mine should have the "newer" screen - I got it at the end of September - I needed it in a hurry so it was one of the ships fast with the 2720qm)

Before this update, the last 2 or 3 steps on the lowest brightness were unusable... now I should be able to work in the dark without needing sunglasses :)

Mine has been updated too but I could not download manually, I had to do it via the download manager. So far so good though.

I still cannot download the new chipset driver from the Dell support site. It has been there since yesterday and I cannot download it manually (404) or through the DM.

Intell have recently updated their graphics card driver too. :)

I've got the LG screen and previously when I used the lowest few brightness levels the backlight would flicker (not off and on, just low to mid-high brightness)... it was visible with the naked eye :)...

BUT with the new bios, I can use all the levels.. no flicker, nothing.. it works like it should
