I've had my new vostro 3450 (i5-2410, Win 7 64 bit premium, Radeon 6630M, 320 gb 7200 rpm HD) for about 2 weeks now, and I love it. It's my 4th laptop, my first dell. I've run into a couple of issues I am mildly concerned about though at the moment.

The first is that it seems to idle on the warm side. Using both speedfan and hwmonitor, both cpu cores are running around 50-55 C, and the Radeon 6630 around 54C but hard to tell because of the graphic switching. Haven't had a chance to run any games yet, might load one tonight or tomorrow to test.

This seems too high to me for idle. Any thoughts?

Also, I seem to have the dreaded CPU whine issue - it seems louder shortly after turning on or restarting the laptop, then a little quieter later - but I might just be ignoring it better.. I've tried adjusting a number of things related to power management but no difference so far. I am very sensitive to high-pitched noises so if there is little background noise it drives me nuts. I'm not 100% sure it isn't hard drive related.
