i've had the M6600 for about a month... quadro3000M, 1920x1280. arrived with a dead pixel but i reported it & they replaced panel the next day.
one thing i noticed immediately (with both panels) was the slight fuziness of the display compared to my old XPS M1530.... doesn't seem as crisp. also when opening pictures of any size the colours seem kinda banded... reminds me of looking at an old 256 or 16bit colour display lol.

i rang Dell and asked if it actually was an Ultrasharp(tm) panel as it didn't mention this word in the invoice... (they're all advertised as Ultrasharp on the website so they have to supply one). they didn't seem to know what Ultrasharp was lol. they rang me back a few days later and said they'd forward the specs of panel and said it should be Ultrasharp 'cuase it had a matte finish. so i asked if they could email me confirmation in writing that it was Ultrasharp(tm). they kind of didn't answer the question but asked what my definition of Ultrasharp was... i tried to explain to them but i think they're just playing dum.

long story short, how do i tell if it is Ultrasharp(tm) or not as Dell either don't know or aren't telling.

Install HWInfo and check the display model number.

Edit: Oh, and "Ultrasharp" is just a class of screens Dell sells. It can involve multiple screens, some of better quality than others.

As msjgriffiths said, many screens from Dell can be Ultrasharp.

Really what you want to know is which model and make your screen is.

If you have Chi Mei Dell should replace it for a LG or AUO screen.

Install HWInfo and check the display model number.

    just run it now:

    Monitor Name: LG Philips LP173WF1
    Monitor Hardware ID: Monitor\LGD02DA
Color Bit Depth: 6 Bits per Primary Color

my main issue is with imagery that almost looks as though its interpolated video... even noticeable in google image searches with all the thumbnails. there's a criss-cross pattern covering everything.. maybe its part of the screen's protective film or something...? not there on the old XPS though.
