I was going to go the outlet route (I've had good experience with Dell outlet) with the 15% off coupon and pick up an Studio 1737 (with T6400 CPU) for a few hundred less, but decided on this route for the extra bit of leg-room on the P8600, the LED screen (which none of the outlet 1737s I've been looking at over the last week have had the LED screen yet) and the 3 year warranty.

This will be replacing my wife's current Vostro 1500 (which still runs just peachy). The 1500 will be going to a friend.

Sweet, don't forget to post thoughts on the Vostro when you get it. You really can't beat the price on that.

Nice. Under $100 for the panel and $65 to go to the 9600m with the 35% off coupon right now! My wife had no need, but those are attractive prices for those two upgrades.

I was thinking going this route with the WUXGA. Did you receive the laptop yet? How is the screen? Seems to be a lack of users with this option on the Vostro 1720 speaking up on the forums (or I'm not searching thoroughly). Thanks.

Screen resolution is a very personal thing, but I have the WUGXA and 8600GS on my 1710 and am very happy with it.

I am looking at buying the vostro 1720 from the spanish dell website. I am looking at the P8600 or T9550 (recommendations?).
Now the my main question is about the screen, in the specs in spanish it says WXGA antideslumbrante which would mean antiglare, but I would actually like a LED screen. Is this an LED screen or not? And is this anti-glare matte or just antiglare? I am looking for matte LED if that exists for outdoor use.
