    Hi

Interested in either a 3350 or 3550 but heard that the last generation of Vostros could be prone to excessive fan noise. Just wondering if anyone here has bought one of the new ones and whether they run quietly or ramp up a lot?

Any additional feedback also appreciated (eg screen quality, thermal design, track pad, keyboard)

    TIA

I own a Vostro 1500, 1700, 1520 and V13 and have no issues with fan noise or CPU whine. The V13 is the quietest out of the bunch. My ThinkPad T60 and Tosh computers is where you can definitely hear the fan come on.

I've never had a problem with a fan coming on cause that means hot air is being pushed out.

Hi David, I ordered my Vostro 3550 last Friday and i should be getting it on the 14 April, maybe even sooner. I'll let you know how the fan noise is, when idle, normal work/web browsing and light gaming.

That's good to know. I started this thread because I read something on this thread:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/del...titude-e6420-possible-fan-noise-problems.html

    That would be appreciated. Thanks
