Old Dell, Power connector messed up?

Looks like the internal power connector on my old Dell C640 has conked out. The battery no longer charges and I can't boot up. I get the green light on the power cord (and have tried 2 power cords), but the computer simply won't boot up.

Is there anyway to easily replace the internal AC adaptor (or whatever it is called)?

If it's just the power port, it's a receptacle that is soldered onto the motherboard. It can be replaced, but you would need to be able to unsolder the old part and solder in the new one.

If it's not that, then you are replacing the motherboard.

 

Hmmmm ..... thanks. Will see if I can find one of these in Canada and give it a go for $10.
