The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

P.S. As an off-topic afterthought, just wanted to say that what I'd find the absolute most tolerable and comfortable would be the:
X31 thinkpad (which I have, and which is XGA/matte)

    albeit:

    (1) the X31 should be in good condition, unlike mine which is 3/4 depreciated, not to mention malware
    (2) the X31 should [wishfully] have a 14" or 15" screen

That would be my dream machine, though 1.2ghz may be even better for me. I'd probably be comfy with a combo of low-watt Netbook plus HS201 projector
...except for budget, and no DVD drive.

I imagine there's some Panasonic toughbooks which I'd like, too, but I've never yet gotten to try any toughbooks.
