I've just got a brand new E6410 from my employer,

is the PA-10 power adapter compatible with it? I have a spare one at home, and then I would not need to lug the new adapter around.

Yes. Any Dell 90 watt+ power adapter with a compatible plug will work just fine. If you have integrated video, the 65 watt adapter will work too. I have personally used 90, 130, and 210 watt power adapters with most of the E series laptops from both generations.

Thanks, so its no problem that the PA-10 is essentially a D-Series (or Inspiron 1500 series) adapter.

But Dell still sometimes send them out with the E series. My (early) E6400 came with one.

Most of the D series, E series, and Precision laptop supplies are compatible.

You gotta watch the wattage though. There is no hurt in using a higher wattage supply then the laptop would normaly need. A lower voltage supply may cause some of the E series laptops to declock, not charge the battery, or both.

Dell uses an inner key pin system so the laptop can sense what power adapter is plugged into it, the laptop can also sense how much power the docking port can provide.

As long as it is 90 watt adapter, you will be fine.
