Whenever I unplug my power cable, I get a popup near the systray telling me that the network adapter has been powered down to conserve battery. Last week I was doing a lot of testing of network ports, so I elected to turn this behaviour off, because it would be a pain to cart the mains lead around with me!

Now I want to revert to how it was - and I cannot find how. Its not in the standard Windows power options. Can anyone tell me how to set this back to how it was please?

To be clear - when the power lead is not connected, I want the network adapter to be turned off.
    Thanks for being here.

There should be a program on the laptop called Dell Quickset, check in there. Or if you have a newer machine I believe it is controlled by Dell controlpoint now.

Dell ControlPoint includes an option to reduce the network connection speed when running on battery. It is unclear whether this also disables the network adaptor if there is no connection.

    click more power options
power saver - click change plan settings then click change advance power settings: it will show advance settings tab

navigate to the options you want disable and disable it for that power settings
