    Hi.

I have a Dell Latitude D600 laptop. Recently, my keyboard has been acting funny.

Any time I am typing and press the "I" or "P" key, the letter "O" follows immediately afterward.

For example, if I didn't correct the spelling, this is what it looks like:

    "POurpole poeopole eater. Miossiossiopopoooio."

Anyone have any idea why this is happening? Can I fix it?

    Thanks.

You can first try disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard. This can sometimes fix problems.

This one with the problem was acutally bought as a replacement for my original that stopped working. I needed something quick and the convenience of simply installing the hard drive was why I bought it.

I actually still have the original and was considering just swapping the keyboard.

But I'll try a diagnostic first I thinkg.

    Thanks.

Just swap the keyboard. Much easier than trying to figure out why it is happening.

If you got the keyboard from Ebay or if it's not a Dell OEM keyboard it's not surprising. I've purchased two Ebay keyboards while knowing they were not OEM and they both have had their issues.

Try and find an OEM keyboard if this is the case. :)

I haven't seen non-OEM laptop keyboards, and considering that OEM are so plentiful and cheap, I'm not quite sure why anybody would make or sell one...

I have been unable to find them on Dell's website for the V1500. OTOH the non OEM's are available aplenty on Fleebay. :p
