Our company has about 10 or so Latitudes that we bought last year that have 1 year or less warranty on them. We are looking at getting at least 2 more years with the on-site service. Are there any tips you guys would suggest with getting a lower price on the warranty? How much could we potentially save? Any specific method of negotiating?

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I figured that the Latitudes were business-related and wanted to keep the type of customer/laptop within the forum.)

Rule # 1: Ask to have an account rep assigned to your business if you qualify
    Rule # 2: Butter them up ! :D
Rule # 3: Tell them how much you love Dell products and that if they drop the price on their extended warranty you'll buy more Dell products.
Rule # 4: There's lot's of wiggle room for selling services. It's not like selling a computer with a fixed cost. They know the data on the Latitudes reliability so they know what the likelihood of those computers breaking again.
Rule # 5: Quantity always drops the price on services.
Rule # 6: Don't bite on their first offer. Tell the rep you'll have to get back with them.

I would say you could be looking at anywhere between 10-30% off the price of those services. Heck i've had Dell email me on a 40% discount to renew my warranty. Which I declined. I've found it's cheaper to just retire and buy a new laptop than throw money on the unknown. BUT that's just me. ;)
