RAM for M6600

Going to upgrade my ram from 8 to 16 gb. Currently have 1333. Will there be a noticable difference from 1333 to 1600? Trying to decide whether to spend the money on 16gb of 1600 or get out cheaper with just adding 8 gb of 1333 to my existing memory.

Is the G.Skill the preferred ram manufactorer? any other recommendations? I currently have Hynix? Will it matter if I mix manufactorers?

Whats the difference in 10600 & 10666?

10600 and 10666 are the same. What you should pay attention to is the CAS latency.

With prices the way they are I opted to go with 16GB of G.Skill 1600 Cas 9 RAM.

They were on sale for $35 per pair and I had some of the $40 coupons from Google Offers. They seem ok so far but to be fair I have only used them for a few days.

 

Do you think you can notice the difference between the 1600 and 1333 speed wise? $100 isn't much for the memory upgrade but if I'm not going to notice any difference why do it.

 

It depends a lot on what you do. Unless speed is critical you probably won't notice the difference.
