Reliable and 3rd party _______ don't go together in the same sentence.

Yes they all come from the same factories in China but OEM parts have a reputable company standing behind it with their own warranties. When you buy from those Ebay sellers, you risk calling their Chinese call centers and achieving nothing but a migraine and a sore throat from yelling. I only have a few places where I trust for OEM screens and such only because it's easier finding resellers for LCD's vs batteries.

ebay prices for genuine Dell batteries are quite competitive and, at those prices, I wouldn't try to save a little more by getting a 3rd party battery.

Occasionally for whatever reason procurement at our enterprise gets the third party batteries. They will often have trouble fit wise and don't slide in and out as well as the OEM dell stuff. I can not speak to the reliability of the cells though, as we just hand them off to the end users and we never see them again.

Somewhat on topic, I bought a 3rd party AC adapter on ebay for my current laptop (Sony) in an attempt to save some money and it worked fine for a week and then started only working intermittently, and a few days later caught fire while I was trying to get it to work at the airport.
