Hey guys, in a random turn of events, my screen suffered some damage with a vertical line going down the screen...dunno what it is..anywhoo...

I've decided that if I'm putting money into it I might as well not sell it + it's unethical to sell it as a perfect machine when it's now not so it's off the market.

I know from the owners thread that a few owners are replacing screens, particularly the HD+ 1600x900 displays.

Does anyone know where to find them online? The only displays I'm finding are the low-resolution screens. I'm hoping that I don't have to go that route.

    Thanks! Richard

Have you called Dell about it? They will take care of it and you don't need to spend any money.

I did before creating the thread, I'm getting a prepaid box to return it for shipping and evaluation. I'm partially hesitant that they'll either A. Lose the machine (I know I shouldn't be as I had to do depot service on the D630 as well for defective memory) or B. Fix the machine and charge me w/out telling me first.

I just wanted to know what my options were in the event that it wouldn't be a covered repair as I could likely replace my screen myself for cheaper.
