I had a whoops with one system and think the GPU bios is not working correctly.

What I would like to do is flash back an original Dell Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M GPU bios, but idiot here didn't keep an original copy.

So, would anyone be willing to take 5minutes to download a GPU bios reader and read their bios and post it to me? You would need an Dell E6400 with the quadro card.

The reader (doesn't flash so don't worry) is called Nibitor, and is free download

Download NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) 5.8 Free - Change hidden features, sign-on message, etc. on Nvidia cards - Softpedia

and (see screenshot below) you run it, and do Tool> Select Device (ie your nvidia GPU), and then read into file.

Boom bash bosh and then I hopefully flashback with another program.

I just tried this, and I'm getting an error when trying to Select Device.

    Error: Can't start driver: 1275.

thanks for trying robin, I think it (nibitor) just works with XP

But there is an even easier way to get the file read from GPU in windows 7, using GPUz

    Download TechPowerUp GPU-Z v0.4.8 | techPowerUp

Just hit the icon of the chip on the right hand side, about half way down, beneath the ATI symbol, and it saves the rom file as a dot bin file.

If you could try that, it would be magic

darn I guess the caveat is XP for nibitor then

Don't suppose you could run it in XP mode? unless someone else still uses XP

    thanks for taking the time

I doubt XP Mode will work for it. It's a VM, so it won't detect the GPU.

Your correct robin I had forgotten about that.

I have had a good look around and there are no quadro nvs160m roms posted anywhere. The only rom databases I can find for mobile cards are for when flashing the 79xx era cards to GSX was in the vogue.

If anyone has XP loaded on a disk/partition and could dump me a copy of the rom, you'd be on the xmas card list :)

Send me one of those nice Intel SSDs for Christmas and I'll load up XP on it and give it a shot. :)

Are there no Win7 tools for GPU BIOS reading?

Have you asked Dell or nVidia for a BIOS... seems like the right person there could get it to you no questions asked. Comb your hair and pickup the phone and work your charm!

Have you tried to Right-Click and run Nibitor "as Administrator"?
