I recently purchased the e6420 XFR and decided to upgrade the OS to Windows 8 (because of the touchscreen) and everything works great except for the Brightness controls (Fn + Up and Down arrows). They never work when the computer is just turned on, and the icon (~ 1 inch Black Bar with a Blue bar in it representing screen brightness) doesn't show up either. The keyboard brightness (Fn + Left arrow) always works. Interestingly enough the screen brightness controls always work if I restart the computer after turning it on (the icon shows up and everything). The Screen brightness adjustments always work through control panel as well.

This makes me think that for some reason the driver isn't loading properly on first startup; but I've reinstalled the driver to no avail. Any help on this problem would be much appreciated, thanks.
