I upgraded my Vista E6400 to Windows 7. I now want to restore Vista. It still has the restore partition, but pressing "F8" and choosing "restore" doesn't give me an option to choose the Vista partition.

Is there a way to restore the laptop using the original OS?

My E6400 had nothing in the restore partition.

You could install the OS using the OEM DVD.

I would decide a route forward that has Win7 x64 installed. The E6400 deserves better than Vista.

Latitudes generally don't have the recovery partition. That was mostly for consumer systems.
