I mostly can find tests in which the Vertex 3 looks quite good. Also I had difficulties finding people complaining about the Vertex 3.

You seem not to like the Intel SSD either. Is there another one you prefer?
I'm looking for ~250GB. I don't want to spend more than 500 EUR (~730 USD)

I just bought a 256GB Crucial M4 off of ebay for $388, brand new, sealed in box. When I was shopping around, the Crucials seemed to be fastest or near fastest; certainly in read speeds. 415 MB/sec read and 260 MB/sec write.

My m4600 is here now. Overall it is a really nice machine.
BUT: There is a chirping noise coming from somewhere below the keyboard. It is not present all the time, but when it is, it makes me crazy.
It has a very high frequency. I am sure that many peoble won't be able to hear it. But I am.
I must do something about this...

Are there any news on this issue? :) I'm currently considering the M4600 as my next PC, but I'm very sensitive to noise as well. This would be a dealbreaker for me.

Is the noise just coming from the harddisk drive (which I could replace myself) or is it something else? Anyone?

    Thanks,
