    Has anybody else had trouble removing the screw that holds the half-height wifi card? I was trying to upgrade from Intel 5100 to 5300.

    No. The challenge is to have a good quality screwdriver of the right size.

    Now you have stripped the screw you will have to buy a stud extractor set.
