    Hi all

Now for a few days my Vostro 1500 gives me message that power adaptor isn't recognized by DELL ... and so on. But I didn't change anything this is original power adaptor from the box. BIOS also can't detect it.
    What can de wrong?

Make sure that the DC power plug is fully pushed in. The centre pin in the DC plug is the communication link with the PSU (which has a chip identifying its type) and makes contact last. If the plug is not fully pushed in you can have DC power but no data link.

I have a similar problem. Mine suddenly became very loose where it connects to the laptop (Vostro 1510). It falls out easily and connection is sporadic. I suspect that something came out of the laptop receptacle that holds the cord in place. I would love to know if this can be replaced, or the entire receptacle.

Check the service manual to see if the power socket is integrated on the main board or is a separate unit. The former will mean a soldering job to change it. The latter is much easier to replace. Sockets that are soldered on the board sometimes break at the connection if it gets stressed (eg by the load from tripping over the power cable).
