Thanks for the replies. I had the shipping address changed, they are going to send an intercept to Fedex. I'll keep an open mind and see how I like the E6400. I'm hoping it can be a great tool. Otherwise I'll return and get a T400.

Are there any specific things I should look for out of the box? Any serial numbers, etc or version numbers? Any tests I should run?

    Thanks.

I believe all Latitudes/Precisions have trial periods w/ full refund for any returns, even when opened.

I have returned a couple, and my neighbor just returned one last month. No restocking fees.

The restocking fee only applies after the 21 day period after buying the laptop. Dell tried to get me to pay it once, but I managed to convince them I didn't need to...

Try seeing if you like DCP first, not everyone really does and it's not neccesary. Look over your computer as well, even if it's used, it shouldn't be too banged up. Also, try running your computer with intensive games/applications (like Orthos) just to see how well it handles under stress.

Thanks I'll try that. I don't have any real intensive games. Are there any free stress tests available online for download that you recommend?

Also, Dell has been a bit of a pain in delivering my laptop. I placed the order and immediately called the following morning to change the shipment address. I've called numerous times and was told the change was made only to have it delivered to the wrong address!! So now it is reaching me tomorrow, luckily the wrong address was only 400 miles south of where I am now.

I'll give it a good look over when I get it. Hopefully all checks out well.

    Thanks.
