    You have a few options:

    T2400: 1.83GHz
    T2500: 2.00GHz
    T2600: 2.16GHz
    T2700: 2.33GHz

I believe with the latest BIOS flash you should be able to take any socket M Core 2 Duo. Best bets at a T7200 @ 2.0 GHz.

Yes I have the latest bios A10, so basically any T7* with 667 FSb should do the trick ?

Yes theoretically that should work. Make sure when you install the CPU to apply a rain drop size of thermal paste and evenly spread it with a old credit card or business card.

Make sure you run Prime95 for a few hours to make sure your CPU is good.

Thanks for the advice, now time to search for a reasonably priced T7400 :)

I got my hand on a T7200 cause T7400 are too expensive, and after a little scare cause the system wouldn't boot, it finally booted dunno why after removing all the chassis ... Anyway I'm very happy with it as I managed to undervolt it like my old processor 0.95V@2Ghz :)

And no more stuttering while reading HD movies !

Ya the price premium for T7400 is pretty bad, though not as bad as the fastest Core 2 for socket M, the T7600. I haven't gotten that low with undervolting my T7200s in my Z61t ThinkPads, just been too busy. You managed to run 2-3 hours stable with Prime95 with such low voltage? Looks like you got lucky with your processor.

1 hour of occt is enough imo, all in all for 50 euros (processor + 2G ram) I managed to upgrade my laptop pretty easily, who said dell wasn't for computer enthusiasts :)

Why is the T7400 so expensive compared to higher end CPU's?? I know it has the 4mb cache but this cpu came out more than 5 years ago???
