    Hi folks, I bought a laptop off eBay knowing it was damaged. I can see images in the LCD, but there is no backlight. I swapped LCDs and the new LCD does the same thing.
    What do you think? Harness cable?
    Inverter?

    I recently stocked a D630 with the same issue. Upon close inspection of the motherboard, there was some water damage around some power circuitry, presumably related to the screen. Ended up replacing the board.

    You may or may not have the same or a similar issue, but I figure this was relevant.
