vostro 1320 First Impressions

Ordered a Vostro 1320 from the Dell outlet last week and it arrived in 3 days

Having previously owned its older and bigger brother, the 1510, I decided to order the 1320 because I got a good deal on it on the Outlet.

I'm writing up a review of it, but heres my first impressions.

• Better build quality
• higher quality keyboard and touchpad - feels like a lenovo keyboard
• quiet! fan never comes on during web browsing, and only comes on during hard drive/cpu intensive tasks
• theres a mute button on the touch controls this time around!
• decent battery life (4hrs) on the 6-cell battery (4800mWh)
• audio jacks on LEFT side of notebook, not front and center
• 4 usb ports (1510 had 3)
• cd drive is a tray load, but thats fine in case a disc gets stuck
• 4.65lbs, not bad for a 13"!

In all, I'm very impressed with this notebook.

stress test made CPU's temperature (P8600) 90C in my 1320 even with silver 5 applied.

 

i'll run one in the morning and see what happens. but as far as browsing the net, the machine is quiet.
