I have a vostro 1400 and am wanting to add a Draft N wireless card to it.
Are there any compatible cards for the vostro?

Also, Is there any way to add 3G functionality to the vostro 1400. I live in Western Australia

    Thanks.

You can pretty much reliably use any Draft N card up through the 4965ABGN. 5100 and above might work, but sometimes just don't on these older machines. There's the Dell 1500, 1510, etc.

There were 3G options for the 1400 (I think it's the Dell 5520), but I don't know about the details on setting these things up. It should be possible if you know how to, though.

I would recommend the Intel 4965 for wireless-N.

As for 3G, you are aware that it requires a SIM and active service, right? You'll need a WWAN card that is unlocked for your carrier, and even then, you'll need to have the correct software suite. If Dell doesn't offer any current laptops in Australia with WWAN as an option, the chances of getting it working are pretty slim. Generally WWAN isn't a popular option due to the many constraints it has, so if you can get an aircard with your carrier instead, that would probably work better.
