Over the past week I've had problems with both wired and wireless connections.
The problem is the same using WinXP or Ubuntu 10.04 (separate HD's)
    Same problem with different networks.

    I'm guessing I'm having a hardware problem and guessing it's a motherboard.

I'll take any other advice or suggestions.

    Thanks

Is the wired and wireless connection from the same router / ISP Service ?

IT's strange that both your Wired Lan and wireless are giving the same problem, kinda points me at something else.

But on the laptop side have you changed/Updated anything recently ?

Have you tried rolling back to an earlier restore point ?

On the Router side if it your using it for both the wired and wireless connection, I would try a different router if you have one around.
