Hi, im new here and ive got a few questions.

I have a vostro 1500, with bluetooth (added after buying) and 2gb of ram. Running Ubuntu 9.10.

As of right now, the left track pad button doesnt click correctly. The right one makes a good sound, while i feel like i need to apply pressure to make the left one work (really annoying). Im okay with disassembling, and repairing. But where do i start? What do i remove first so i can get the nice click.

Also, my screen wobbles ALOT. When its open, it can freely move 1.5-2 inches. Also very annoying, id like to purchase a new screen/henges or whatever i need to get this fixed.

Id also like to try and purchase a new glossy screen, and get it installed. Is this possible? And what kind of screen would i need.

    Thanks in advance

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520, same thing except gray. I've been in this thing 100000 times.

About the screen. The hinges are NOT bad, yet they came loose from the screen.
What you wnat to do for this
    1. Remove wifi, bluetooth, etc, antenna. These are located in their own access panel on the bottom.
    2. Remove the bezel that says Vostro 1500. Disconnect all wires that go anywhere from the screen and pull out the wifi antennas
    3. Remove the 4 screws that screw the hinges to the base
    4. Remove the screen
    5. Take off the rubber stoppers and take out the screws. Take off the bezel
    6. Tighten up the screws holding the hinges in place

For the trackpad button, there's about 14 screws along the bottom that hold the palmwrest in place. Take out the keyboard, the bezel that says Vostro 1500 and then the screws. Pop off and take apart as needed.

The screen get a 15.4'' widescreen glossy. You will need your inverter though. Same thing as fixing the hinges, take the screen apart and tear into it!
