I'm wondering how using a Linux boot disc will help. I don't know much about Linux.

Also, the wireless card (Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG Network Card) is the one that was shipped with the laptop. I don't have any other cards to try.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Keep them coming!

Linux boot disc will rule out drivers vs actual hardware and you won't have to reinstall your OS to test it out.

No, unfortunately, I don't have a Linux boot disc.
I'm likely going to reformat to see if it solves anything.

So you refused to reseat the card which takes all of 2 seconds just to eliminate a bad connection from vibration and you are zeroing in on a software issue and are willing to reformat and reinstall your software.

    Excellent ! :p

I have already reseated my wireless card and it doesn't seem to be fixing the issue. I have taken it out and put it back in, making sure the power pins are properly inserted as you indicated.

I have additional observations now as well. The moment the wireless suddenly turns off, my windows freeze for a few seconds and my mouse pointer (using the touchpad) does not work for a few seconds.

Have you tried another WLAN card? They are cheap on Ebay.

Still having same problem. Here's the deal too. If I sleep the computer, and go downstairs, the wireless is fine when I turn it back on. If I don't sleep the compute and go downstairs, the wireless stops working.

Anyone even have this kind of issues before?
