I have the T5270 Cpu and the GeForce 8400M GS video card.
I want to upgrade this laptop now.
What is the fastest CPU and video card I can put in it?

For the CPU, you can take any 800MHz FSB Socket P processors... fastest chip is still the T9500, but you're generally better off from a monetary standpoint with a T8100 or T8300. 800MHz FSB T6x00, T4x00, and T3x00 parts should also work with the latest BIOSes.

Depends on what you are doing. Gaming yes it is a significantly better video card. It's a entry level to a mid range. It'll handle modern titles on lower resolutions. The part is ~90 bucks. Edit: P/N for the 8600M GT 256 MB is UW390

And as stated above, the best processor is the X9000 but it's quite hot being a 44 TDP Core 2 Extreme processor. Best bets are T8300/T8100 or a T7500
