Vostro 1520 Notebook Resolution Question.

Hi Guy's,

I thinking about getting Vostro 1520 Notebook but i need the resolution to be around 19xx X 12xx but i spoke with dell tech support and they have told me that vostro doesn't get more then 14xx X 9xx .. is that true? i spoke to someone online who has Vostro 1520 he said he get's 19xx X 12xx resolution with WXGA+ Truelife & 4500MDH intel video card

anyone out there with this notebook can tell me if this can do 19xx X 12xx ?

If the screen is WXGA+ (1440x900) then there is no way that screen can physically display 1920x1200. The laptop could certainly output 1920x1200 via the VGA/HDMI/DVI output (whichever it has I cannot remember) and it could certainly display a 1920x1200 video downsampled to 1440x900 on the LCD screen. But displaying raw 1920x1200 is impossible, and if that poster suggested otherwise that person needs to learn a few things about computers.

As far as the notebook itself goes...if you cannot order a WUXGA screen from Dell's website, then the 1520 cannot get more than 1440x900 without you personally upgrading the screen aftermarket (which costs more money and you have to hope you'll get a compatible screen).

can you recommend any notebook with atlest 1600x + or higher resolution? dell don't have option to choose WUXGA screen.

looking for 14.1 or 15" screen brand doesn't matter.

The Dell Latitude E6500 has the option for a 15.4" 1920x1200 screen, and the Sony Vaio Z has an option for 1600x900 but is a 13" screen. If you want to, the 17" Dell Precision M6400 has a 1920x1200 screen as well but I know you are looking for a 15" or less.

There might be some HP Elitebooks that have that high of a resolution, and I am pretty sure that Lenovo has some notebooks with that high of a resolution as well.
