    Hi all,

    newbie post.

I've got a vostro 1520 and the battery died after about 2 weeks. Now (9 weeks after purchase) the keyboard has started doing something quite odd:

when I switch the laptop on, the keyboard completely fails to work...at all. The mouse, touchpad and everything else works fine. To fix the problem I have to plug in a usb keyboard, let the drivers install, then the laptop keyboard will miraculously start working again! I'm travelling tomorrow and can't bring the usb keyboard with me. Any ideas what I can do to fix it? I can't find anything on the dell site and their support have been less than helpfull.

    Thanks in advance!

    GM

Have you called them on the phone? They will almost definitely replace the bad battery.
