If I buy one that didn't come with it, can I just buy one and install it? Only reason I ask is I'm concerned that models that didn't come with it pre-installed may lack the connection for it or something, and I don't want to run into unforeseen hassles.

Ordering one with it installed forces you to get a higher priced package all around, like $100 more (I plan on adding my own ram and don't care about the fingerprint reader so much).

Also, is there anyone who has had the chance to use both the 3300 and the 3400 who can comment on how the resolution plays out respectively on the different size screens? I've only been able to see a 3300 and a 3500, and the 1366x768 on the 15.6" of the 3500 looked terrible. The 3400 is a lot closer in size to the 3300, but I'm curious if the slight loss of pixel pitch is noticeable (feedback from people who are picky about text representation especially welcome). I wish they offered the 1440x800 display for it.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.:)

You will have no problem installing a backlit keyboard in your system, all of the hardware for it is in the keyboard assembly.

As for screen resolution, indeed, 1366x768 is terrible on 15.6", but it is also not that great on 14" either (and the next step up, 1600x900, is a little too high). In my opinion, 1440x900 on 14.1" 16:10 is best (which you can still find in the E6410).

Thanks for the info, Robin. =) And yeah, the WXGA+ on the 6410 is nice. Putting it on my shortlist.
