Just got my 3350 yesterday and I'm considering returning it because the battery is loose even though it's locked, I can shift it back and forth noticeably. The DVD drive also wobbles and when I open, it I can move it up and down more than I feel it should be able to.

The screen is also terrible, screen door effect on all white backgrounds. I use a monitor most of the time in uni but when I'm back home I have no monitor and will be stuck with this awful screen. 16:9 also sucks, I dislike apple but would consider it now given their 16:10 screens and just slap windows on it.

The keyboard is loud and I need a silent one for lectures. Chiclet keyboard definitely takes getting used to.

It's played games nicely and hasn't gotten unacceptably loud or hot yet with the 6490M. I know it will be quiet for lectures in terms of fan noise. Screen door effect isn't noticeable on games.

Dell has offered me 10% of my money back if I keep it. What do you guys thing I should do?

If you have a warranty, keep it. If not, return it.

The AC adapter was also loose, very shoddy build quality but most likely a lemon when it came to build quality. Screen was unacceptable. I'm keeping my portege m700 and upgrading it to last the next 2 years where hopefully 16:10 laptops will be back!

If you are within the return period, I would outright return and order another one.

Apple is already transitioning to 16:9, I hope you know that. The MBA 11, iMac's are already 16:9. I highly suspect their supply of 16:10 screens are depleting fast, with the next refresh all MBP will go 16:9.

16:10 is long dead, with the last generation Arrandale mobile workstation business laptops and 14.1" workhorse laptops housing the last of the 16:10 screens. Everything now is 16:9. There is no going back, because nobody manufacturers the panels now.
