    Tried search but yeah....

Basically I have a Vostro 3400 and upon waking from sleep the keyboard does not work. I have to restart the computer to get it back.

I do not have a usb keyboard to see if it makes a difference. Also this is the second keyboard I have had in this system the first stopped working completely.

Anyone experienced this or have any ideas?

    Thanks

Did you maybe fiddle around with a BIOS setting?

No I haven't touched the BIOS on this machine.

I updated some drivers and checked power settings etc and I thought I had it fixed but its doing the same thing again.

Basically on cold boot it works fine then when the lid is closed it goes to sleep and upon wake up no keyboard. Sometimes it works the first resume after sleep but subsequent resumes no keyboard function.

    bump

    anybody have any idea??

Tech support wants to send a tech to replace the motherboard, touchpad/palmrest and keyboard...I told them I wanted to try and figure it out first.

Its not a good time to have a tech over right now...
