Vostro 3700 screen upgrade?

    Hi, I'd like to know if it's possible to upgrade a Vostro 3700 screen to a HannStar HSD173PUW1-A00. I've been researching and they measure the same, have the cable port in the left bottom and use a 40 pin cable; but I'm not sure if it's going to work because of the edid or some other thing I don't know about. I'd really like the higher resolution and better view angles.
