    What is the power output of the powered USB port on the M6400 ?

    Max output for USB is 500mA, but typical output is usually less.

    In my experience the ports can deliver a bit more than the nominal 500mA because they can power up a 2.5" HDD in an enclosure (typically 3W = 600mA).

    I'm talking about the powered USB port on the M6400. The M6400 has 3USB ports. One is specially labelled as powered.

    I don't think that the power rating of that port is any different. The difference is that this port can supply power when the computer is turned off (if you enable the feature in the BIOS). Note that you need to plug any device in after the computer is powered down in order to switch on the power. This is to stop any device that was connected when the computer is shut down from continuing to receive power.

    Oh, I was thinking powered USB meant something else then! :eek:
