    There is a button on my Dell Latitude E6410 that looks like my terrible drawing below and also an empty port inside the laptop with the same logo. What is it for?

    its for latitude ON. you need to buy an optional card to use it. its a small board, with memory, and ARM processor and a linux OS. if you boot from that you get like 20 hours of battery life surfing the net and checking email on the customised linux on it.

    It's the Latitude ON feature, a pre-boot Linux environment that allows you to access basic files, etc.
