I am buying a laptop for my girlfriend but I am kinda confused which one to buy. For her, the must haves are:
    1. Size/weight: much lighter/compact than my E6400. So, I am thinking of E6320 or E4310 (should I be considering any other?)

    2. Display or HDMI port

    3. A couple of USB ports (external mouse, keyboard, speakers without docking station)

    4. Integrated webcam and microphone (for some reason, it seems like Dell Outlet has no more "integrated" cam configuration remaining. Any config I click says "No integrated webcam")

    5. Integrated graphics are fine. She doesn't play a lot of games. But sometimes she uses AutoCAD & Photoshop (would i3 play nice? or should I be looking for i5)?

    6. DVD-RW is a must have too. Internal/integrated.

    7. Budget: under $650 (without the 25% of coupon)

Note: I am open to other brands/models (Lenovo?) with comparable build quality, size and weight.

I would consider an x220i with an external optical drive with the IPS display.

Perhaps it would be best if you filled out this form and post it in the What Notebook Should I Buy? subforum.

Along with the Thinkpad X220, the Vostro V131 is a relatively cheap ultraportable. Both will require an external optical drive if you want it though.

A used Toshiba R700 or HP EliteBook 25x0p will have a built in optical drive.

Go for the E6320, you'll get the best quality and support for that price range. The E4310 is previous generation, so I would get the latest unless she really prefers the design over the E6320.

Choose the i5 CPU, it has better performance because it supports hyperthreading.

Keep checking back in the Dell Outlet for new systems if you don't find one with all the options you need, it changes quite often.
