Can highly recommend the Contour Trolly from Kensington.
Have it a few month now and it is really the more than worth the money.
And the m6400 fits in it. (even the power brick)

I tried 2 different bags. One is The North Face Offsite messenger bag. The other is the Booq Vyper Exo XL. I'm sending the Offsite back since it won't take the Covet. It actually can take it in a non-padded middle slot, with no side or bottom protection (the hinge of the laptop is at the bottom of the bag with only vinyl between it & whatever you set the bag on). Shame since its a nice bag.

The Booq is real nice, sort of a cross between hard & soft case. The black with orange & red stitching match the Covet perfectly. It is a real snug fit getting the Covet in. I have to slide in one side at an angle, then pull the lip of the zippered edge up around the other two corners, kind of like fitting a bike tire. Its no big deal, I just wonder if the zipper will eventually scratch the paintjob of the laptop. It needs another half-inch extra room in width to be perfect.

Other than that its a well made bag, the power supply, cords & mouse fit too, but its snug & either bag are silly-heavy with the stuff packed in, no getting around it.

Offsite's zippers end too early for some reason

fits in the unpadded area - get a sleeve if u want & maybe it'll work? but I don't want to bother. NEXT!

Covet in the Vyper. not quite. sonofa!

stuff it in & its passable. still this zipper makes me nervous

nice bag tho. button-fly pockets are more fiddly than velcro

forgot to attach the shoulder strap. still a heavy mofo no matter how you hold it

Maybe a bit late to jump in, but I had ordered my Covet with the Dell bag (because I had been really happy with the one that had shipped with my M90), which includes a sleeve. The sleeve is alright, has two handles and an optional strap; it's actually a custom-made sleeve by Timbuk2, Nylon on the outside, and some sort of corduroy on the inside. Perfect, snug fit, but holds only the laptop, nothing else. A bit strange design, too, with the zipper running kind of at an angle from the top of the back to the bottom of the front of the case. Still, an o.k. sleeve.

The bag itself, on the other hand, is pretty much a POS, floppy and supremely ugly, a real letdown compared with the bag for my M90. I'll be looking at some third-party options myself...

I know you said what you are getting already, but i have been using a slappa bag (www.slappa.com) for 1.5 years with my m1710 and it has been fantastic, i travel ALOT via airports, cars and trucks and it has taken the abuse very well. They are a bit pricy but it is an excelent bag.

I went for a Crumpler Dark Side.
Tis the first backpack one that I have got - previously they have all been brief-case stylee.
However I have a small child, and I work from home I am the one looking after Manic-minor - so I figured that most of the time were I might be taking the laptop I would probably be taking him too - so a backpack it was.

Still, it means that I can do some work whilst he is at toddler groups!

Count me in as a Spire fan...
I have the big one (which is a monster... I can carry my M6400, my M6300, my x60 tablet and my samsung NC10 netbook all at the same time, along with power adapters. I don't make a habit of traveling this way, but it has been done) but they have a lot of smaller bags. the real benefit of Spire is the ruggedness and their excellent support. After a year or so, I wore a small hole in the bottom of my bag. I called them and they sent me a brand new one free of charge.
they have some nice messenger bags, too, not just backpacks.

I can't put the name of the bag in here because it is automatically blanked out. I guess the term is used in the markup language for this board or something. it is "M3T@"

Just to let everybody know, I ended up getting the TCG717 | Targus 17” Rolling Travel Laptop Case.

I put the M6400 in a Zeroshock III, then in the travel case and there is still a bit of breathing room for it.
