A little searching wouldn't hurt... this information is readily available on Dell's site.

    Vostro 3400:

    Dimensions & Weight:
    Width: 13.35"/339mm
    Height: (front/back) 0.86-1.16inches/21.9-29.5mm
    Depth: 9.54"/242.2mm
Starting weight: 2.07kg/4.56lb with 4-cell battery and optical drive
Starting weight: 2.16kg/4.76lb with 6-cell battery and optical drive

    Latitude E5410:

    Weight & Dimensions:
Starting weight: 5.21 lbs/2.36 kg (with 6-cell battery)
    Width: 13.3"/338mm
    Height: (front/back) 1.31"/33.2mm
    Depth: 9.6"/244mm

    Latitude E6140

    Weight & Dimensions:
Starting weight: 4.26 lbs/1.93 kg (with 4-cell battery)
    Width: 13.2"/335mm
    Height: (front/back) 1-1.2"/25.4-31.2mm
    Depth: 9.4"/238.3mm

Nominally the E6410 is the lightest of the three, followed by the Vostro and then the E5140. I'd take these figures with a grain of salt, though, as they're for "weight optimized" configurations, and even then, probably an underestimate.

Latitude E6400 was rated at "4.3lbs", and even with an SSD, no optical drive, LED screen, etc, my real weight is like 4.9.

Personally, I don't have much faith in Dell's advertised weights.

The weight of my E6410 is 2.42kg / 5.33 lbs (with UMA graphics, 9 cell battery, HDD and optical drive). Without both the battery and the optical drive my E6410 weighs 1.79kg. Add 0.235kg for the 4 cell battery (weight from Dell’s Setup and Features Information) and the weight is over 2kg without the optical drive. What else does Dell think is optional in order to provide a working E6410 weighing 1.93kg? I don’t know! For those considering the backlit keyboard, it adds about 25g (1oz) to the weight. And, in case my scales are wrong, both Dell and myself agree that the weight of a 9 cell battery is 0.48kg.

So that's the bad news about the E6410. However, I would expect the other two notebooks to be heavier unless owner measurements can demonstrate otherwise.

    THIS! +99999

this was a TOTAL UNACCEPTABLE SCAM! A SCANDAL!
Dell has been such a disappointment for me, my e6400 is going soon, very soon.

I can't even say that tech support is 100% good because they are not fixing problems but ignoring them!

I just weighed my e6410 on a luggage scale that does not show fractions of a pound, and it came out to 4 lbs. I'm waiting for a Travelite module I ordered to replace the DVD drive, and when it arrives I will weigh it again, I hope on a more precise scale.

My system has a 6-cell battery, regular hard drive (not SSD), 4GB RAM, modem, Bluetooth, backlit keyboard, WXGA+ display, and DVD-RW - for whatever each component contributes to the overall weight.

Dell will like your weight measurement. You need to using something more accurate. I use digital kitchen scales which weigh up to 3kg. All the notebooks I have reviewed have been on the same scales.

Copy pasted from another post i made a few weeks ago

I've weighed about 7 different e6410 with regular hard drives (not ssd), optical drive and the 6 cell battery and all of them are 5lbs on my home scale.
I've tried both 1280x800 and 1440x900 screens, with and without webcam and all of them weigh 5lbs. Unfortunately Dell's track record of advertised weight is severely lacking from the e6400 days. In the case of the e6410 the 4.26 lbs weight probably comes from ssd, 4 cell battery (not available on any configuration page) and without the optical drive.

LOL, I know. I read a lot of posts about their penchant for overstating the "sleekness," shall we say, of the machine. Weight was critical to me and if it would have been too heavy, that would have been enough reason for me to send it back.

That's why I said I will use something more accurate once I get the TraveLite module into the DVD bay. At this point, of course, I'm okay with the weight, because I've had the chance to try hefting it and packing it in a carry-on, but now I'm just academically curious. BTW, the 4-cell battery they note in the specs doesn't exist, not in Small Business or in Home & Home Office. They don't have any battery with a spec of 4-cell (37Wh).

I carry my E6410 in a robust protective case, and I also carry the charger, a cable lock and a mouse in the same case. It's a heavy load.... but not much heavier than it was when the same case carried an ultra-lite 13.3" with the same accessories.

In any case, I do a lot of my work outdoors, and the E6410 is far less likely to be picked up and carried away by the wind (as happened with my 13.3" machine).
