Windows 7 Fingerprint Reader Woes

    Well, I think in this case this is more of a hardware/driver support issue. Maybe there is a reason why they chose there non-standard way of plugging the fingerprint reader into their unique, non-standard Broadcom USH, althoug I cannot see any such reason. But in doing so, I strongly feel that it was incumbent on them to provide proper driver support. Since this machine ships with Windows 7, I think Dell has to provide the drivers to allow Windows 7 to use the fingerprint reader. That they have not done so is a serious failure on Dell's side. Like everybody else who has that issue, I am seriously annoyed by the fact that Dell ships these laptops with fingerprint readers that are as close to useless as it gets...:mad:
