Hi, I'm having getting this message constantly after the technician replaced the motherboard on my dell vostro 1510. Does this mean I've to buy a new product key ?

No, just re-activate with your current product key.

Did your unit come with XP presinstalled and you upgraded/clean installed Vista?

    Or

Since the original OEM is tied to the original motherboard...

It came with vista home basic preinstalled.

The problem started immediately after the motherboard was replaced and the technician himself was shocked.

You'll have to call up Microsoft with the number given on the activation screen.

    Open the activation screen.
    Select activate with phone representative.
    Select your country.
Call the number they give you.
Do what the guy on the phone tells you.

Yes, phone MS, they will take you through what to do. It won't cost you anything.
