HI All I,m not sure this is the right forum but i want some feedback/info regarding wired/wireless connection on my D630Laptop,i am on Be ISP who use the Thomson585v7 router which has a Broadcom chipset, now i,m wondering if i should get a Dell 1505 WLAN wireless card for my Dell D630 Laptop, which is also a Broadcom chipset or will i see no difference if i get a Intel 4965AGN wireless card ?

P.S Also does a 5300 work with the d630 laptop ? as i believe that is the latest card ?

I doubt you'd see much of a difference between the 1505 and the 4965... but I've never actually tried to pair wifi hosts and clients with the same chipset manufacturer, so maybe you should try it and report back :)

Else, the 5300 should work in theory, but sometimes older machines just don't play nicely with newer cards. Again, I don't think you'd see too much improvement over the former two cards.

Dell BIOS don't whitelist Wifi cards, so you can use any mini PCI-E one.

The specific chip doesn't matter. I prefer Intel ones cause they have the least issues, they work and connections are stable. 5300 will work if it is full height.
