Hey guys, I do a lot of VS2008/10, email, IM, internet and minor PS CS4 work for web sites. Would the v13 suit me or is it to under powered?

Should I wait for the Latitude 13 and hope for a better CPU/GPU?

After looking around I'm starting to think I'm over estimating what I actually need.

    Thanks!

I too use VB, but not as much. However since both machines are virtually the same regarding specs, I would say max out the memory and go with the fastest processor that you can for whatever your budget allows. HD size isn't that relevant since code can be backed up and compressed.

Keep in mind though, it would best to get a bigger screen for coding since your eyes will hurt from looking at a tiny screen all day (unless you have a monitor).

I have 4 Latitude13s here and we like them for what you want to do you will be fine as long as you don't plan on doing heavy PS work with filters and large file sizes.

Keep in mind there is no docking port and only 2 USB ports on this machine so it really is a road warrior device.

hmm the 1 USB might be the down point, 2 I can live with. I don't mind 13in as I've had a 13in macBook for 3yrs now and have an external 23in. I was looking at this too, thanks :)

Actually there is 2, one USB and 1 USB esata.

If you can tolerate a little more thickness then look at the E4300 stock in Dell Outlet. You would get an extra 32 pixels display height, a much faster CPU, docking capability, removable battery and an optical drive.
