There is now an RGB LED option available for the M4400 for $299. I'd love to hear how this screen performs in real life.

It should be the best screen available for any notebook out there (AW, M6400, 8730w all have this too), considering is a RGB one.

ultrasharp dosent mean matte. you have displays that are "ultrasharp.....with truelife".

i think they have it in both varieties. generally you have to order over the phone to get the full list of options. they have "AG" and "truelife" both of which are ultrasharp.

I'm just a little jealous... I can't afford the configuration I want until Dell comes out with another series of Small Business coupons (last month they were offering 30% off).

    Hopefully before Christmas...

This has been a long time coming to finally get acceptable screen performance in a notebook. I have looked closely at the Sony AW viewing different color charts and comparing it side by side with the other Sony notebook screens. I have also done the same with the current uni-body Macbook Pro. Although I have not been able to do a side by side comparison, the Sony AW RGB LED screen based on my observations is a marked improvement over any other notebook screen including the Macbook Pro. I might add that after waiting three weeks to get an official answer from Apple regarding whether or not the Macbook Pro has a white LED or RGB LED screen, I was told Apple will not provide that information. Interesting as a sales girl at one of the Apple stores said she was certain the Macbook Pro screen is a white LED screen, because she was just told that in training. The Sony AW RGB LED screen is a non-glare screen by the way, and I assume any screen that is targeted towards users who require the greatest color accuracy possible, will be non-glare. I have not seen the Dell screens yet, but assume like the Sony RGB LED screen it will offer a much improved range and color saturation, but will continue to have poor viewing angles, and therefore inconsistent color and brightness depending on angle of view. I am hopeful that this screen will offer a usable "sweet spot".
