Just got my laptop today and I am having problems installing xp 64bit. I tried searching the forum but did not see anything.

Each time I try to boot off of the cd I get a blue screen. I have tried 4 times and it blue screens at the same place. Any thoughts?

Just set your SATA operation to ATA in your BIOS.
After installing XP64 manually load the SATA driver through device manager. Then reboot and set SATA operation back to SATA....that's all really, you don't HAVE to slipstream it during installation.

    try vista 64bit or windows 7 64bit

xp 64 won't install due to intel's storage manager thingy

DO NOT, i repeat.....DO NOT USE XP x64................unless you like blue screens of course:(

as the poster above said, use vista x64, or windows 7 x64 :D

Even Microsoft themselves admit that xp x64 was unfinished and full of bugs!
It was only released so they could say that they had a 64 bit os:mad:

I have xp 64, but i guess I will pass on that.

I also have vista ultimate 32bit. Do the codes for 32 work for 64? I assume they do since it is not an "upgrade".

XP64 isn't bad at all, by now all drivers are running very well and have been doing so for quite some time. If you really decide not to use it...mind sending me your copy? seriously...i'd love to have it. '
If i were you i'd just run it the way i mentioned above.

XP64 is a fine OS, I've run it on systems for over 2 years now without any issues.
