    Thanks Tsunade Hime.

To be honest, it comes as a little of a surprise that I am getting a new laptop right now, as if I had the choice I would keep what I have and wait until Ivy Bridge is out before investing in a new machine. But, like I said, it is complicated and therefore need to choose between the M6600 or the E6520 in the next few hours.

I know I should not compare the two, which is why in this thread I was asking about the performance difference in rendering HD video between the XPS 1645 and the E6520, as described in my first post.

If the expected speed difference is substantial I would probably get the E6520 today with top specs (save the price difference), then in a year sell it and get the M6600 with Ivy Bridge and Windows 8 etc.

But earlier Naikama suggested that the GPU is not as important as the CPU in rendering video with things like Sony Vegas Pro, which is also making me wonder whether the E6520 is the better option (for a year at least) as the M6600 would also have i72720QM although it would have 16GB or RAM instead of the 8 on E6520.

    Thanks.
