I'm interested in this notebook and have been reading your comments here. Can someone please explain what the "micro stuttering" is like that you folks keep talking about?
Does it affect gaming, watching videos etc.?

Hi! The laptop is really great. For my use, it's been the best laptop I ever had so far, and I had quite a few...
The stuttering is an OS lag in windows 10 witch happen because some processes trigger the Optimus hw to change from integrated gpu to the GeForce gpu. This is something that is fixable and I had a chat with a dell employee (Nordic resale executive) on Friday and they are aware of this. Who to blame? Well I belive Microsoft will have to do something with the processes witch triggers this gpu change.
We as users must press on to get a change done as quickly as possible.
Will this affect your daily use of the laptop?

Does anyone know if it's possible to run multiple monitors with independent displays without disabling onboard gfx on the oled version?
When I plug in my tv through hdmi the oled screen is mirrored rather than being a second display and I'm not able to change the resolutions independently.
When I disable intel graphics I do get a second display but I'm not able to access nvidia control panel settings for the oled screen and it seems like applications on the oled screen are 100% through cpu without onboard gfx (for example hearthstone runs very badly with high cpu usage onboard gfx turned off).
Edit: Found the setting in the windows display options instead of Nvidia control panel where I would expect to find it. So it's working now, false alarm..Last edited: Dec 19, 2016 -
I've tried all the versions I could find and none of them recognize the lighting. Apparently they never worked on the 13 anyway. If anyone has an idea about this, I would highly appreciate the help!

I don't believe that visualizer you're talking about have been updated for the new Pascal AWs. -
It hasn't, but it was edited by the creator in such a way that you could edit an XML file to allow it to work with newer versions of AWs. The XML file needs to know the LED codes, which you can find out using an LED Testing tool that he bundled with the plugin zip. Problem is, the LED testing tool does not recognize the 13 R3 LEDs, though it recognizes the LEDs of the last gen (970M) AW 15.

Spoke to Dell this morning, stated work is completed and laptops will be out for delivery by end of Thursday.
Just had an email confirming my delivery eta is sometime tomorrow!

So my order Shipped on Saturday evening 17th. My EDD was originally the 22nd, which would have been fantastic as I go away for a fairly long time on the 23rd. However as my EDD is now the 29th it means I wont get my machine
I was wondering whether there was anything you did to get them to expedite the order in any way? I really really want mine before the 23rd! It would be amazing to have it for xmas and not sometime in February!Rairch likes this. -
I was just extremely persistent with them. Anyways very nice on the phone and they put my order at or near the top of the priority list (they could have just made this up and was lucky enough that my order got resolved early?)
So is your order shipped and in the UK courier warehouse?
If so, I would definitely expect delivery this week!

Can't imagine the added stress due to this situation, having to resort to ordering from elsewhere as a backup?! Not on that.
Anyways, have you by chance spoke to customer care regarding a 10% compensation refund for your order?
I would definitely contact them and see what's available. She was very nice on the phone with me and seemed truthfully sincere about it all.
Just glad they were on form this morning. No issues at all, can't wait for it to land tomorrow.

I ordered my AW 13 R3 the 14/12/2016 and they say it's will be delivered the 06/01/2017. I called Dell and they say "we will make a priority for your order and you will have it in the 24/12/2016 " (haha i don't trust this date ... i need it for my school project.)
Have you heard of this "priority" ?
Do you know how long is the pre-production step ?

Im not really sure, it left the manufacturing thing on Saturday and on the tracker it says "DEP MANU FACILITY" and "Pending" underneath that. So I guess its not in the UK! I really really really want it before I go away at Christmas as Im travelling, so unsure of the logistics of how I would get it. Dell support cant do much, perhaps I'll send Alienware a message on Facebook as a last ditch effort to get something before Feb when Im back.

It uses discrete graphics only, turning off switching between integrated and discrete graphics. and resulting in a higher power draw.

Hmmm, so usually takes around 4 days to get into UK hub. If it departed manufacturing facility on the 17th? I guess it will be here Wednesday then out for delivery Thursday? Possibly. I would wait for the syncreon link to update. Mine was pretty quick into the uk to be fair.

Canadian here. Ordered 25th of Nov, first promised Dec 17th delivery, then changed to 19th, then to 26th, now it is still in production and there's still part shortage. I basically online chat or call every other day, and I was told last Tuesday there's going to be an update in 48 hours, but still nothing right now, anything else I should do? I feel like the online or phone reps can't do anything. It has been a month long wait which is very hard

Ask the online rep for some compensation if it doesn't arrive tomorrow. I just asked about it today since I am confident it won't arrive on EDD, he said if there's no update today, then "we can work something out". I have read that people got some money back or extra warranty etc. At least that's some payback for the time. Although I'd give up my minimal discount for it to arrive earlier.

I'm still N/A on the Dell website. I ordered 12/8 and it never has had an EDD. I contacted Dell support chat and they assured me it's still in production. I'm thinking there must be some sort of delay regarding these laptops. Could be sourcing the OLED panels, the battery issues or anything regarding these US shipments. I'm doubting I'll be seeing this before XMAS.

Ordered on Dec 12 and have a EDD from Dec 20-Dec27. Got the OLED panel. Haven't seen anything change so far. We'll see still seems better than shipping dates from Razer

Just got off the phone with Order support and they are now saying 1/27/2017 as the Estimated date to get the OLED panels. It looks like there is a big backorder now.

Yeah, I'm working on that. I too would give up the discount for the original EDD (28th Nov) but given the givens, at least some sort of apology and gesture would be very much appreciated. I wrote to them again today, I seem to be getting more traction with emails than on the phone where I have to talk to people who can barely speak English and are clearly reading from a script. Asking for a supervisor doesn't seem to help either - one Mexican transferred me to an Indian when I asked
I've got nothing against Mexicans or Indians mind you, but what I am getting from them is definitely not support, at this point just send me your script and I will read it to myself when I start feeling the urge to call lol.

Mine has said item complete for almost 2 weeks now & they've assured me it will be here by Wednesday. If it's not updated today I don't think it's even possible it will make it to my door by then.Italia_NYC, Bahn Yuki and PMF like this. -
Mine was item complete several days after the order, was that way for almost two weeks, and then the item complete thing disappeared. When that happened, I emailed and they said it was now in production (even though they said that 2 weeks prior as well). Long story short, you can't believe anything they say to be honest. Mine is currently like yours but with Dec. 12 - Dec. 20, as you can imagine it's not possible to get it delivered tomorrow if they haven't shipped it. I wish you good luck, and in the meantime, take a deep breath cause it may be a while.dataraxia likes this.

I think it is complete BS that they are still listing it as 7-9 business days when they know that is not true anymore. They either need to adjust the shipping estimate or take off the option for the OLED screen to allow the current orders to get fulfilled.

Same exact dates here. Ordered on the 6th, EDD of 12/13-12/21. I did get an email last night from Dell that says "My custom item is complete, We’ve finished customizing your product and are sending it from our factory to the shipping center". My order status still has not changed from "Confirmed" since day one. An online chat with Dell support suggest it will be here by the 21st (two says). However, they immediately followed that up by saying "Currently I see that your order is in transit from Asia to USA". LOL. How they think it is going to make it from Asia to New York in 48 hours is beyond me. Of course they did end the conversation with the now infamous and obligatory "We will be happy to expedite this for you".

The upshot I guess is... I rather they hold the units and make sure I get a good unit than have to go back and forth with support with a faulty unit.
They already delivered the amplifier unit for my order so I stare at every day waiting to give it a shot with new laptop when it comes
Flipside, my experience with this order is still light years better than trying to buy direct from razer. -
I'm curious, where are you based (which state, assuming you are in US), and where geographically does tracking show your delivery started?

Same thing here, I have a PS4 pro and a busy career. It's not like the GTX 1080TI has even been announced. Of course I'd like it now since it's been paid for but I'd rather them work out all the kinks than deal with a defective unit.

Lol not that but they did string me along for over 4 months on orders and would not disclose any information or be accommodating in anyway. I think for the kind of money we spend on a premium laptop we should get some level of service.

Same. Soon as I saw this, I refreshed my Order Status page; and there it is. EDD of 12/22 now. Still hasn't left the "Confirmed" state, no tracking #... or any other details. But I'm going to guess (perhaps wrongly so), that we will in fact see this laptop at our front door on or before the 22nd of December. Call me an optimist.
