The issue is you were refusing to even listen to what the Pros are trying to explain. Next time, give people a chance and be open to discussion so you won't put yourself in such a situation. Cheers. Here's a good one for you to cheer you up right now....

Yep - was waiting for this. Upscaling fools quite a few people that aren't aware of it.
DSR is great when it works, but I know for some reason it causes the A51M at least in my case to "jitter" a bit with Overwatch, even at like 1.2. Kerbal Space Program OTOH, looks fantastic and has no issues with it. What I dislike is its a global setting, and this means if anything has issues with it you have to remember to turn it on and off per application : /Last edited: Apr 2, 2020Spartan@HIDevolution likes this. -
Another update with new info, in caes anyone is following.
I've been checking every morning and the drain occurs only on Wednesday and Saturday night. I guess my next step is to simply reimage or clean install OS, since Dell support is both inndifferent and incompetent. I haven't heard back from them for about two weeks, now.
I thought that was noteworthy, though. 6% drain overnight, but only on certain days.Rei Fukai and Fire Tiger like this. -

I recently did a clean install and took an image. I had to then go back to that image a few days later and I haven't noticed any battery drain since. I haven't actively changed any setting to try and eliminate the random battery drain either.Docsteel likes this. -

I have 0% battery drain. I turn off my laptop every night and even turn off the power switch of the electricity. I have my Xbox 360 controller connected all the time and my Samsung T5 Portable SSD connected via Thunderbolt.
I'm on BIOS 1.5.0 and have disabled USB Powershare.

Have both of you eliminated the Dell Support Assist crap, or whatever they're calling that virus now?Papusan, Fire Tiger and jc_denton like this.
-
Spartan@HIDevolution Company Representative
No, I don't need to eliminate SupportAssist or Dell Update since I don't install them to start with
-
-
I have not personally done so, least not that I recall. I will reconfirm if I have it on or not.
EDIT: I disabled it, I recall now doing a pass on loading programs etc. and turned it off, so that's likely it.Last edited: Apr 2, 2020Papusan, Spartan@HIDevolution, Fire Tiger and 1 other person like this. -

I have Support Assist installed but changed the service to manual instead of automatic.

Finished repasting. Success so far after 1.5 hrs of The Division 2 (since its the only game that maximizes my GPU and CPU usage...). Fun fact, this machine has better idle temps than the GS65. Some reason it was much easier to take apart this time around and the last time was a year ago.
Anyone know if its worth switching from Killer AX1650x card to Intel AX200?Last edited: Apr 2, 2020Fire Tiger likes this. -

They're basically the same card but with Killer firmware. If you follow this guide, the result will be 100% the same, disable and prevent any Killer crap from installing:
Guide: Killer Software / Extension Un-installation and Blocking
I don't even know that I have a Killer card anymore, the Killer Control Center never auto installs and I never get the darn Killer Networking Extensions through Windows Updatejclausius, c69k, Fire Tiger and 1 other person like this. -

Do you have gigabit internet? Are you more than 30 ft away from router? If no. Then no don't switch it.

None should use any of Dell's bloatware. On top it's a huge security problem! http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...ts-and-incidents.816109/page-28#post-10989928
And they didn't bother with all those who prefer install it themself without help from Dell's technician. Just remove it from the webpage without a notice. Fantastic! Proprietary solutions will never be a good thing. From what I remember, you could just install it yourself without the need for any of their technicians. This smells.jclausius, Mr. Fox, jc_denton and 1 other person like this. -
I do have gigabit and a wifi 6 setup where I am usually 30ft away or so.

I've had em all bro.
Best range/speed overall = Killer AC1535
Best *theoretical speed* but with crappy range = Killer AC1650/Intel AX200
Killer AC1550 = crappy range decent speed minus the hyped Wifi6 speeds which I saw 0 difference in since you literally have to be next to the router to benefit from it and anyway you are limited to the speed of your ISP unless all you do is copy files over the network all day longFire Tiger and Papusan like this. -

Not sure on wireless speeds, but my ISP uncapped a lot of stuff and finally seeing roughly 78MB/sec downloads on wireless. As for wifi6, the big gain for me is little to no disconnects when having same distance and setup as my wifi5 setup before.

well you will be disappointed with the range.jclausius likes this. -
Only if I keep on the 6E standard. Otherwise the lack of disconnects is already a huge plus and congestion with 16 devices is no longer an issue.

Whilst on the chat of wifi and speeds.... any reason or idea why my laptop averages around 150Mbps where my phone which is right next to that laptop is doing more than double that at 384Mbps? Almost certain it used to get over 200Mbps.

Gosh, I got confused and thought this had the Renoir laptop CPU. Nope, it has the 16 core desktop 3950x, and it does shred current and probably upcoming Intel CPUs in multicore benchmarks. We'll see what Dell's response will be. BTW 3200MHz RAM
