Yes, the biggest advantage of the infinite for you notebook will be that it will provide a constant supply of cool air to the CPU fan where as the NC1000 will not for your particular notebook.

Johnny T, have you tried removing the aluminium piece in the center with the coolermaster logo? I remove it and got about 2 degrees cooler. my intake vent was right where the aluminuim piece was, so i guess that's why it help.

The only time I cleaned it was after an entire year haha! You should probably clean it once every few months. Depending on how dusty your living area is.

Yeah, just alot of screws. You will need to remove some of the rubber pads in order to access all the screws.

I cleaned it after a month. quite a few screws, but simple to take apart and put back together. takes me about 20 mins to clean completely. by the way as posted, you might want to remove the center aluminum panel with the coolermaster logo on it. It decrease my gpu and cpu temps by an additional 2 degrees.

The infinite's air flow is pretty decent on both of the top corners, so it will be fine. What it lacks is the cooling of the center of the notebook.

ok so I bought infinite and what to say..

 temperature of HDD went down by 12, temperature of CPU down by 15
all this in idle, didnt test on load, but my girlfriend use it not in 100% load or so, so even if it cools it down by 5-7 it is really good for that price :)

noise on is OK, yes on the fastest it annoying, but low and middle are really ok

    Hi guys,

I was thinking about buying this for my HP HDX 16. Its a 16.4" widescreen laptop. Was wondering if it will be a proper fit.

    Cheers!

Find out the measurements of the HDX 16 and the sizes of the infinite! And compare! :D The likely hood is that the HDX16 will be wider than the cooler. Depth wise it will be fine.

if the corners are cooled well, it would seem this would be a good match with the dv5t.

I'm debating whether or not to pick the infinite up with its loud fan or pick up the enermax aeolus or w/e due to a quite fan but possibly little cooling.

Anyway wanna sway me into a particular direction lol?

Thanks for the reply. I checked the measurements and laptop comes out at 37.85 cm while the cooler is 38. Its a tight fit. Do you recon it will work?

    Cheers!

I have heard that it works fine with the dv5t. You can keep the cooler on low for most tasks, it will be fine. I usually only turn it up when i am doing benchmarks or some games.

From pictures of the HDX16, it doesnt look like the vents are right on the edge, so the infinite should cover it fine.

The Infinite cools the sides far better than the center. In fact its cooling for the center is rather poor. Most of the air comes out on the side. :D It great for notebooks with vents on top corners.

Looks like it will be ok as you main vent in on the side. A reminder that the NP Infinite cools the sides the best with little to no cooling down the center. Though it is nice that your notebook is full magnesium alloy chassis. :D Spreads the heat nicely.

next saturday I'm gonna bring back my lenovo G430 to home.
and I'm currently considering buying a cooler too.
since the lappie comes with intel T4200 and nVidia GF 9300M G....it's a low end system.....do I really need a the CM infinite for a GF 9300M G?
(it's a low end card rite )

on the other hand; I'm thinking buying a notepal D1 which is cheaper one.
    well I could save $20 bucks ;)

    Hi there.

I am looking to replace my CoolDesk Traveller (which is a total waste of money, btw) with a better notebook cooler. Since the Cryo LX and the Zalmans are outside my current budget, I am looking at the COOLER MASTER NotePal Infinite as my best option. I have a couple of questions, though...

Fist of all, I would really like to know how good is the cooling / air flow in the two red areas on the picture (they are approximately where the main vents are on a XPS m1530). As I understand most of the air is pushed out near the edges, so I should be fine, but nonetheless.

Secondly, how much will having the "exhaust" of the laptop at the back affect the efficiency of the pad? m1530's air output is towards the back, on the upper left side of the laptop and I'm somewhat worried the 8.5 degree tilt is not enough to keep the hot air from re-entering the pad's intake.

    Thank you for your help.

Well get your notebook first then check the temps, try other cooling solutions such as undervolting before you spend any money, and of course attach a pic of the bottom of the notebook so we can check whether the Infinite fits!

hey, i just bought a sager 2098 and was looking for cooler. i was wondering if this cooler would be good for my notebook?

i was wondering if the cooler would be able to get air into the little vents in the middle, because when under load, this area seems to get warm. but mainly, will air get into the intake vent? this area gets pretty warm when playing games.

if this cooler is not effective with this notebook, does anyone have any suggestions on a cooler that might work well with the layout of my notebook?

and when i play games, coretemp and speedfan say that the temperature averages in the high 40s, low 50s. i idle at low 40s. so i guess this should be my first queston, do i really need a cooler? these temps seem pretty low compared to some other peoples notebooks, so do i even need one?

You talking about CPU temp? If so that looks fine. Whats your GPU temp?

As for the cooler, unfortunately it won't feed the middle section, but it will indeed be able to reach the main vent and the one near the front.

hwmonitor says my gpu i idling at 50 right now, and my hdd at 41.

at the top, under my laptop model, it says my cpu is idlin at 49. but at the bottom under the processor is says it is at 59. whats the difference between these two?

If speedfan/what ever else have a temp that is identical to one set in HWmonitor, go with that. The Core temp monitors might well be faulty.

So I bought this cooler thinking it was perfect, but it seems to not decrease the temps at all. It's weird because the cooler seems to push air the most in the areas where my laptop's vents are located. Dell e1505/e6400

    Here's an image: http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd109/neo92d/Picture041.jpg

I guess what may be causing it is the fact that the vent where air leaves my laptop is on the back left of the laptop. The air intake on this cooler is in the middle bottom. Could that be the culprit? Arrrrrrg! I even searched online and I believe I read people with e1505/e6400 saying they got good results form this :(.

    Thanks everyone!
